Don't touch...for own safety

Jumper: Topshop   Shorts: New Look   Trainers: Zara   Leaf ring: H&M   Spike ring: Topshop   Bracelets: Selection from Topshop and H&M

As talked about in previous post, here, did manage to find some little beauties in the recent sales including this studded jumper from Topshop. Like its casual style but with the embellishment gives it a harder look (also thinking to be worn with leather trousers and all black hi-tops) and the photos don't show it too well but it graduates from a darker pink at the bottom to lighter at the top.

This was just for chilling at home the other day seeing as it has been so muggy lately but not exactly sunny. Booking the holiday to Ibiza this week, so can't wait to break out some full on summer outfits. Must start planning packing now...only five weeks to go!!!

Little house...hunt

Jumper: H&M   Jeans: H&M   Shoes: Primark   Bag: House of Holland   Bracelet: River Island

Took some quick photos the other day whilst out doing a bit of a house hunt with the bf. We were having a wander round one of the areas we have been looking at moving to when we came across this lovely little cobbled street randomly of a main road. It was full of little cottages with iron gates and fences and little, nicely, decorated gardens that look like they came out a Beatrix Potter book! Unfortunately no houses to rent down there but a lovely little surprise to come across!

Also seen this week the preview for the AW12 collection for Primark, here, on Look magazines website. I can't deny that I did go 'oooo' out loud, despite no one being around. Think my favourite items are the embellished collar shirts and the khaki and leather sleeve jacket. But you so would not assume it was Primark if you didn't know!!!

Better late...or in sale

Top, skirt, sandals: H&M   Necklace: Topshop

I know due to the current climate sales are starting a lot earlier this year and as said in last post, most places already are, but I must admit to be a bit disappointed with most of them, particularly on line. I'm not a great fan of going to stores and trawling through sale rails but this time round I think it'll be more worthwhile. Having been into Topshop they have some great  knits with stud embellishment and jeans in every single shade you could want. H&M had some lovely basic dresses and vests that could be good for summer holidays and Miss Selfridge has some great geometric and tribal themed jewellery pieces.

Having said the above did find a few gems through searching the net! Like the above collage, mainly from H&M, that would work well as a whole ensemble or as separates that could go through to winter wardrobes (maybe not the sandals if this rain keeps up!). Some other little bits I found were these much sort after metallic sandals from Topshop, here, that appeared everywhere! This grey marl dipped hem skirt, here, from River Island to wear in the summer evening or with tights and chunky knits through winter. Also found these heels from Carvela at Kurt Geiger, here, that are similar to these Burberry creeper heels from last year, but were also down from £140 to just £29!!!

To the...point

Jumper: H&M   Jeans: Primark   Shoes: Primark   Bag: H&M   Necklace: Vintage

Was having a little drink and stroll out the other day (before all this rain happened again!). Want to get back into wearing my heels a bit more day to day so tried to not go over the top and dress the look down a bit with an oversized jumper, wore a similar look, here, but with flats. The necklace is actually from my Nan, she has some great outfits and costume jewellery, and I love looking back at old videos and photos to see what she was wearing (a lot of it coming back around, as it does!) as she always looked so put together and pristine. She always has the phrase when going out somewhere that she has to 'go put my face on' that makes me smile.

Seeing as up so early on my day off might spend a little bit of time having a sale browse. The boyfriend is now telling me if I want another holiday I am not allowed to look! But how will I find what to wear whilst on holiday?!! Most have already started, a little frustrating being a week from payday! Shall post up any finds tomorrow.

Origami...origins

Dress: H&M   Boots: Primark

Just a quick post as wearing this silky H&M dress today, which I bought online a couple of months ago but just wanted to put up some pics as I love the water colour type design to the flowers and the wide obi belt to clinch in the waist and give a bit of shape. Just wanted to say Happy Dad Day to mine back in Brighton, not that he'll be reading this (don't think he really gets it!) and hope everyone has a nice Sunday whatever they are doing. Longer posts to follow this week, promise!

Save for...a rainy day

Hat: New Look   Jacket: River Island   Jumper: Topshop   Jeans: Topshop   Trainers: Converse   Bag: H&M   Necklace: Hannah Makes Things

Why is it when we always plan to go out for a wander it always rains?!!! Maybe as we live in Manchester so it ALWAYS rains! So had to break out the hat and hide under the bridge on our walk out the other day. Not that am ever condoning graffiti, (though remember previous post, here, with examples from all round Brighton that I do find awesome), but it does always intrigue me how it ends up in some of the bizarrest places, like this bridge coz that water was not low!

As mentioned in previous post, here, this shoes the bright orange bowler type bag, (it looks a lot brighter than the pictures!) and I like that it has handles and a shoulder strap. Other things I thought would look good with it would be this cap sleeve sporty dress, here, with these hidden wedge trainers, here, that I have previously lusted about!

Smart up...day out

Blazer: Primark   Shirt: Primark   Trousers: H&M   Boots: Primark   Bag: H&M   Ring: Topshop

The other day we had a nice little trip out to Liverpool where, like every time we seem to go, was a bit wet and windy so couldn't really decide what to wear! Went for some boots that were going to avoid the puddles and a sheer shirt that I love with the little pink tips to the collar. Ideally the blazer would have been a bit more fitted but couldn't find a similar Mango one I have that is whilst dashing round in the morning!

Like the clash with the green bag (I'm glad I got them round the right way, ever since I was a kid whenever I said green I almost meant pink and vice versa - very bizarre thing!), also seen, here, and, here. H&M bags are having a bit of a moment in my eyes at the moment as I also found (and may have bought) a lovely orange bowler type one that will probably show in the next post but am also lusting after this one, here, and who could resist this little neon number, here

Stamp...in fashion

Stamps: Royal Mail

I have just found these photos from the last trip to Brighton. One of my Dad's obsessions that we all never really got until he pulled out these gems when we were visiting, a nod to the influence of British fashion and its iconic designers and pieces. With involvement from Claire Wilcox, senior curator at the V&A, they show designers from Zandra Rhodes to  Paul Smith and, of course, Alexander McQueen. Definitely a nicer way of dressing up your letters, used to write loads when I was younger...need to get back into doing that!
