What I want...this week

Top image: Green supersoft skinny jeans £38
Second image: Cream coloured pleated dress £55
Third image: Red velvet lace up boots £75
Fourth image: Spike earrings
Last image: Tapered trousers £42

Aaaah my second home of Topshop and all the things I am lusting after this week! Roll on payday. I'm suddenly wanting to wear everything of colour, all together even. The velvet boots look gorgeous and not really something I'd usually go for but am now seeing them with little ankle socks and the dress above or the green jeans, oversized tee and a fedora.

The earrings are a bit more severe but I just like the way the backs are different and part of the shape and the tapered trousers are like the ones on the front of H&M catalogue, here, but I like the shade, particularly against the tan belt. Mmmm...what to get first?!

Cobbles...and crop tops

Cropped top: Primark   High waisted trousers: Primark   Plimsolls: Primark   Purse: H&M   Sunglasses: H&M   Beaded bracelet: H&M

The great thing about living near Didsbury, finding some little gems like this lovely little lane with the cobbles and beautiful little cottages, (how many times can I get 'little' in a sentence?!) there are also some HUGE places around the same area but they are just depressing to look at!

On the trousers I like the four buttons down the front and the pleat detail just below the waist band. They could be worn with some platform wedges and a sheer shirt to dress up a bit but I like wearing them slouchy over scuffed up plimsolls, just need to make sure the top is a bit tighter/tucked in so not an excess of volume going on.

H&M...Autumn 2011

H&M: Autumn Season 2011 Catalogue

Got the new season H&M catalogue this week. As on the cover I like the smart knitted jumpers and tailored trousers, many in the colours, seen above. Am liking the mustard and navy shades together, even if in small details like the belts. Also from the catalogue there were some lovely bags, some great shapes and sizes for various occasions. Check out the rest of the photos, here, on my Facebook page.

City walls...buttoned shirts

Denim shirt: Primark   Skirt: River Island   Vest top: H&M   Shoes: Primark   Bag: House of Holland for Debenhams   Belt: Primark   Watch: Urban Outfitters   Sunglasses: H&M

Had a lovely day out in Chester the other day, very relaxed and spent the time walking round the walls and having ice creams by the river. Behaving like a proper tourist! Check out more photos on my Facebook page, here.

Denim shirts are incredibly versatile and probably not worn enough, this one is quite relaxed with the rolled up sleeves and lighter shade. I would like to get a smarter one that can wear with chinos and heels, like this one, here, at Topshop or, here, at New Look.

Boot camp...and glitz

Sequin top: Topshop   Treggings: Topshop   Boots: Manchester Market   Sunglasses: H&M   Necklace: H&M   Watch: Urban Outfitters   Vest (just seen): H&M   Bag: House of Holland for Debenhams

It has been a glorious day today, beautiful sunshine and lovely and warm. It didn't start like that though, it was grey but warm hence the t-shirt and big army boots! As said before I like sheer items and this one particularly with the double layer of sequins and fabric over the top.

We were out looking for boys suits for the wedding, which proved quite unsuccessful - boys are horrid to shop for. I did however find a gorgeous sequined french connection dress (sequins again, am like a magpie!) that was a bargin, very pleased with it I am. Not sure when I will wear it but I want to soon!

Homesick...bright on walls

Photos: All my own from Brighton town centre

Have been missing Brighton a bit recently, we get to go visit in a couple of weeks so will take some more pics when down there. Keep looking back to the photos have taken previously and one really bright day we were there taking lots of random pictures round the town centre, particularly of all the graffiti that's randomly on the side of a building or on telephone boxes etc. It probably all has meanings I don't understand but as far as images go I really like the bold colours and lines to them.

I have a couple of graffiti print dresses, like this one here from Topshop Unique that Olivia Palermo wears and one from H&M that is similar style to the D&G Fall/Winter 2011-12 prints. Will be taking some more pictures soon, promise, maybe even of those dresses! Also other images I particularly like of Brighton come from a photography shop on Sydney Street, here, called Zoing Image. If I had enough I would have a wall just to all of their bright canvas, might just have to stick to collecting the fridge magnets at the moment!

Pretend aisle walking...and laughing

T-shirt: Topshop   Jeans: New Look   Trainers: Primark   Watch: New Look

Have just been having a nice afternoon trying out make-up for the forthcoming wedding and relaxing at home, which feels like a bit of a rarity at the moment. The sister has just been taking some pictures with her iPhone to play with the effects.

I don't really need another white top but just love the pattern on this t-shirt, I very much like simple black on white. In warmer weather would wear with some denim cut offs but am enjoying the comfy bootcuts today with Converse style trainers. The jeans are brand new but have crease detail under the pockets that make them look like they have been worn a lot already, silly to buy new ones really but I also liked the inscription on the inside right pocket - "great for: hot nights out, killer heels, sleepy on sunday, afternoon speed dating, shimmy baggy jumpers".

City of love...and lights

Way back in February, the boyfriend and I had a break to Paris to do the general sight seeing bits and for me to stalk out the fashion houses. Had the obligatory trip to Colette and tried to remember my way back to the Maison Martin Margiela store.

Above are a few pics from the trip, the carousel was amazingly pretty with all its little flower pots and lights. I wish I had taken a few more street snaps as there were some great looks from some of the people out and about. The above pic was of a girl we were following down the rue Saint-honorĂ©, who I assume worked at The Kooples boutique, or maybe had just had a big shopping trip! Apart from the bags that caught my eye, I loved her relaxed parka with fluffy hood (due to the cold I was quite jealous of it compared to my oversized cardigan) and the smarter cigarette trousers, with what looked like Louboutin heels. Although we didn't go in The Kooples boutique I do really like the simplicity of the brands style and the advertising images they use. Check out the website and  the couple David and Sophie, here, I wish I looked like her all the time!
